A Kestrel really can help you out in all situations...
Watch the trailer for the new 3D movie Journey to the Centre of the Earth to spot a Kestrel in action in a slightly unusual location. Go to http://www.journey3dmovie.com/ and select the 'Trailers and Clips' link.
The Kestrel that stars in the film is the Kestrel 2500 hand-held weather meter. This model provides measurement of wind speed, temperature, wind chill, barometric pressure and altitude - everything you might want to know if you are adventuring to the centre of the Earth!
Journey to the Centre of the Earth is due out in UK cinemas on 11 July 2008. Why not buy your own Kestrel 2500 online here?

Designed to provide critical measurements to those on the race track, the new Kestrel 4250 is now in stock.
Accurate and up-to-date readings of air density, moisture content (humidity ratio) and density altitude can now be easily measured and tracked. Small changes in these conditions can dramatically change an engine's performance.
Other important measurements, including wind speed, station pressure, temperature, humidity and barometric pressure are also readily monitored.
The Kestrel 4250 enables racers and pit crews to instantly assess the environmental conditions on the track and to tune their machines accordingly.
Just like the rest of the Kestrel range, the Racing Weather Tracker is rugged, portable and easy to use. It also features manual or automatic storage of data, allowing logging of conditions throughout the race and for comparison from track to track. With the optional Kestrel PC Interface, data may downloaded on to a computer allowing in-depth analysis of the race day's conditions.
Highcliffe Sailing Club have just installed a new R-P-R Wind System. The system streams live wind data to the internet every 10 minutes. The data can be viewed at our website www.weather-file.com/highcliffe.
This system will provide valuable information on wind conditions for sailors, windsurfers, kite-surfers and other boaters in the Christchurch Bay area. The club is situated at the entrance to Christchurch harbour in Dorset.
The wind system uses a WindSonic sensor - a reliable, no maintenance ultrasonic anemometer, with no moving parts, to measure wind speed and direction. A WS-15A display provides instantaneous read-out in the club house, while the internet link displays live and historic min, max and average data every 10 minutes.
This live wind data increases the coverage across the Western Solent and Dorset coastline. R-P-R has other systems installed at Lymington, Hurst Castle and Portland Harbour where the 2012 Olympic Sailing Regatta will be held. Data from all these can be viewed at our website www.weather-file.com.

Ideal for use by farmers and others involved in crop spraying. This new Kestrel hand-held weather meter provides a useful measure of Delta T.
Delta T is the spread between the wet bulb temperature and the dry bulb temperature (in degrees C). By calculating this value, the Kestrel 3500 delta T Pocket Weather Meter provides a quick guide to determining acceptable spraying conditions. In hot, dry conditions, evaporation can send expensive chemicals uselessly into the air rather than onto the crops.
By also measuring other critical conditions, such as relative humidity and wind speed, the kestrel 3500 delta T helps ensure safe and effective spraying.
