Product Description

SpaceLogger W50 Description

The SpaceLogger.W50 data logger is an WiFi (WLAN) connected logger for enabling the simultaneous live viewing and recording of data from a single wind, weather or environmental sensor on WeatherFile.com. Compatible with wind, weather and environmental sensors from Gill Instruments, LCJ Capteurs and Calypso, the SpaceLogger W50 logger accommodates RS232 serial input.
Please contact us if you have a sensor requiring an WiFi (WLAN) connected data logger, we work with manufacturers delivering customised OEM and retrofit solutions.

The SpaceLogger.W50 data logger requires RS232 input either direct from the meteorological sensor or via a WS-15A display unit (an easy to read 40 character programmable local display which shows wind speed in a choice of measurement units and wind direction in degrees, as a wind arrow and as cardinal points). When long cable runs dictate use of RS485, a WS-15A Display or RS485 to RS232 converter enables connection to the SpaceLogger.W50 data logger.

Data is sampled at 1Hz from the connected sensor and stored on a removable SDHC memory card. The raw sensor data is processed by the logger to calculate 5 or 10 minute averaged values with min and max readings during that period. This data set is date and time stamped and recorded every 5 or 10 minutes in a separate daily .CSV file.

Current and historic data can be viewed via WeatherFile.com. Files can also be accessed wirelessly using the SpaceLogger Real-time Communicator Software over a Wi-Fi wireless local area network (WLAN). If the Wi-Fi wireless local area network (WLAN) is temporarily unavailable, data may be downloaded directly from the SD card to a PC when removed from the SpaceLogger.

Configuration of the SpaceLogger.W50 is via a simple set-up file written to the SD card and connectivity to the local area network (WLAN) can be achieved either through the set-up file or via the WPS (WiFI Protected Setup) push button feature. The SpaceLogger Launcher Software may connect to multiple loggers within the same WLAN at any time.
